Our boats are equiped with an AIS transmitter which transmits details of their location, speed and course.
The AIS-transmitted information sent by vessels is being picked up by the MarineTraffic network of AIS-receiving stations. All incoming raw data (NMEA feeds) gets processed and decoded by our central database and is then made available in near real-time on the MarineTraffic website.
This information will also be picked up by boats close to our boats.
It is possible that our boats are too far from an AIS-receiving station.
